Pasta

Little Miss loves pasta.

If I ask her what she wants for lunch, she always replies, "Pasta." If we go out to a cafe for dinner Little Miss will always order pasta and eat it all up. She really really loves the stuff.

And what's not to love. Pasta is a very versatile food. I have given her uncooked pasta to play with in her toy kitchen. Turns out she likes to eat that too, crunchy though it is.

Penne pasta is her firm favourite, not only is it great for stirring around in a cooking pot, hear it clink about, but you can put your finger inside when its a nicely cooked soft tube. Plus as a bonus you can make a pasta necklace with penne as well.

Ah Penne pasta is know as 'Pasta Puppets' in our house because when cooked they slip over your fingers and become puppets! Ah pasta, yum and fun!

I used to love trying to stuff my meat into the penne when I was a girl

When my kids raid the raw pasta (crunch crunch crunch) I know I'd better start dinner!

My daughter is a picky eater but she too adores pasta, and I disguise all sorts of vegies that would otherwise be rejected by blending them together with parmesan cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and some toasted nuts. Hey 'pesto'!

Thanks for the reminder to pull out the pasta again! I'm going to add that to my rainy day activity list!

I am definitely going to get the cheerios out, Nutragrain might also work. I am glad to know that raw pasta is popular elsewhere.

Princess and Little Miss could probably have a lovely play date, making their necklaces and then heading out for a bowl of pasta together :)

We haven't made these for ages ... you've just reminded me how much kids enjoy the simple art of threading :)
