It doesn't matter who or what came first, it's the here and now that counts.
If you peck away at something big it eventually goes away.
Creating something is really worthwhile, start out small and it will get bigger and better.
If you do something everyday it becomes a habit and those around you will expect it.
It is possible to get clean in dirt.
What others have only appears to be better than what you have, because they are running with it.
Scratching at the surface can reap rewards.

We had six Rosie type chooks when we first came back to the country from Sydney, as there was a coop in the backyard of the old house we lived in. I adored them, they had the run of both the back and front yards (we couldn't have a garden!) and they were so entertaining and gave us many more eggs than we could eat so we shared them around town. I still miss them, we gave them away before we moved. One day we'll have chooks again. Your kids are so lucky to have you as their mum giving them all these great experiences!
How great it is to get wisdom from a chicken. They will of course take umbrage at that comment if you show it to them. Chickens are of course chicks which they are no more. They are laying hens and no doubt proud of it. If they were roosters they would crow about it, but being hens they can but cluck. It is when they get clucky you can smile and then say, breakfast!
My goodness CF you learnt all those things from chickens!
Yes scratching at the surface can definitely reap rewards.
